Church of Christ News and Events

House Parent Position Available: If you hear the call of teenagers that are struggling with their lives and if you are ready to play a role in forever changing those lives, consider the position of House Parent at Shults-Lewis Child and Family Services. The House Parent applicants should meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Faithful members of the church of Christ
  • A strong passion for the mission of Shults-Lewis
  • A high school diploma, preferably some experience in working with teenagers
  • Couples should be married at least 3 years
  • Good organizational skills
  • Valid Driver’s license
  • Be able to provide spiritual leadership to teen residents
  • Works well with others

Metro Area Church Leaders: Ministers, elders, and other church leaders gather monthly for prayer, encouragement and equipping. All are welcome. Free Educational Workshop: The Church of Christ Care Center will be hosting a FREE Educational Workshop on Tuesday, March 6, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. in the Therapy Room at the Care Center, 23575 15 Mile Road, Clinton Township, 48035. We will be discussing the topic “Overcome the Winter Blues” with guest speaker, Jennifer Wooten, Nurse Practitioner. We will have free blood pressure screening, balance testing, fall safety prevention tips, recipes and nutritional information, as well as light refreshments. Ladies Day: Saturday, March 17th, 9:30 am – noon at the Royal Oak Church of Christ. “Dual Citizenship” (Matt. 6:24, Luke 16:13) with sisters Valerie DeVries of Royal Oak and Jamila Hodge of Silver Spring, Maryland. Grand Central Church of Christ Jr. Youth Rally: “Carry the Torch.” A rally for 3rd – 6th graders, Saturday, April 21, 8:30 am – 3:30 pm.
